hi can anyone identify this fungus i found growing on a dead tree on my way to work .i thought it might be a BEEFEATER FUNGUS but it doesnt have the blood red characterics ive seen on pictures on the internet.I live in lutterworth leicestershire if that helps.

Did you mean a Beefsteak Fungus? I have seen this before - much redder and near the bottom of an oak. Is your tree an Ash?

It looks like a Dryad's Saddle (Polyporus squamosus). Try looking that up.

hi chris thanks for your response i checked up dryads saddle and you were correct ive no idea what sort of tree it is . so cheers and thanks for your help !
