• Switch to custom database (from wiki) to allow:

  • auto-fill of species in the forum
• Implement as a "taxo-tago-clado":
  • Directly supports a taxonomy hierarchy
  • Also supports tags (that are inherited down the taxonomy)
• Have links to corresponding Cases
• Use Google Maps to show distribution of all idents done
• Have 'accepted' distribution of species:
  • Use to determine if 'Case solved' is likely
• Have tags associated with each entry

User information

• Count of id requests made
• Count of ids done for others (and 'successful' ids)

Notifications

• Request email when:
  • Any message or reply posted in a (single) forum
  • a certain species is identified

General

• Have photos on front page of Cases that need solving
• Provide links to standard identification keys on the web
• Provide links to places where unusual finds can be reported

Funding

• Get grants to pay experts to do idents
